Drop Down Menu in Excel

For this time, we will learn about how to make a simple drop down menu/list in excel. Sometimes this function was very helpful in order to make a financial report or similar.

Drop Down menu is the menu when we click on one of his column, that column will display a selection of items that we can choose. Before making a Drop Down menu, we first create some data which will appear in the column.

Then, on the columns that will be made ​​into a drop down menu, we select (click) -> Data -> Validation Data -> Data Validation.

Once we select Data Validation, Data Validation window then appears which set all the drop down menu.

From picture above, we specify the type of those Drop Down menu, select Allow  -> List. For Source, we set by pressing the button beside it. Button to specify the range of data into the data validation.

In determining the source data, we just drag the data, for example, we select the data by dragging the column to the KR-MDE I006, M038. Once the data is selected, then press the button next to the window to return to the Data Validation.

In the Data Validation window, select the last tab the error alert. Error alert to display errors that occur if the data entered in the drop down menu does not match the range of data that we have chosen earlier. We can determine the style (icon error), title (titles in the error alert), and the error message (what message are we going to show if an error occurs). Click OK when finished make arrangements and take a look at the columns that we designate as the Drop Down Menu.
